Happy Tuesday!! Today on the blog, Grant and I are celebrating our ten year anniversary! {A month later.} 10 Questions for 10 years! No, I can’t believe it’s been ten years, but at the same time it seems like we’ve known each other forever.
How We Celebrated
That afternoon, I came home and found 10 dozen roses throughout the house. He is so thoughtful!! 🌹We took a few photos in Grand Haven!
and an evening in Grand Rapids where we ate dinner here and only snapped this pic😂
10 Questions for 10 years:
1. From day 1: “Where did you see “us” in 5 and 10 years?”
Mel:
I had no clue. I knew I was excited to be married and spend even more time with G, but much past that I had no plans. Ok I thought I didn’t, until we moved to Cali.
I guess, live in Fort Wayne and start my own design business there!
Grant:
Definitely living in Fort Wayne, a kid, and MBA completed.
2. What do you think your spouse’s biggest pet peeve is?
Mel:
When I leave unzipped suitcases in the trunk for him to unload💋 #yourewelcome
Grant:
When someone leaves a door open long enough to let a fly in!
3. What has been the most memorable year and in what way?
Mel:
2016-2017 (year 6) Moving to Cali, being pregnant for the first time, celebrating our 5 year and baby-moon in Hawaii, having Grayson Quinn and figuring out life with a little💙
Grant:
2016-2017 (year 6) Start of a new adventure in California, the trips we took, adding a baby to our family, and God healing his heart!

4. What has been the hardest year?
Mel:
(Year 7) Postpartum depression and then after a year and half, experiencing God’s healing! Learning how to communicate with G all over again.
Grant:
(Year 1) Learning how to communicate.
5. What is the sweetest thing the other has done for you?
Mel:
He wrote me a 5 page note on being a P31 woman!
Grant:
The book she created that hi-lighted the adventures (past, present, & future) of Grayson, Gentry, and me.

6. What do you enjoy doing most with the other?
Mel:
Working on Designs and of course traveling!
Grant:
Well you can guess what he said 🙈 and trying new restaurants!
7. 1st year and 10 year: what is the most attractive trait about the other?
Mel:
1 yr- Kindness/Thoughtfulness 10 yr- His ability to give so incredibly much!
Grant:
1 yr- Legs and 10 yr- How considerate of others she is and still her legs
8. What is your most memorable date?
Mel:
March 4, 2017- the evening before Grayson Quinn was born! I was having mild contractions at dinner so we thought it might be our last before being parents. I loved the moments together as we awaited in anticipation! A memorable dinner & date😍
Grant:
Dinner in Turks and Caicos- taking the dirt path, getting stuck in a pot hole, showing up to the Land Rover lot in our Dodge Attitude, feeding Freddy the bird, and a delicious meal in a serene sanctuary with my people!
9. If you were to plan a date based upon things the other loves, what would you plan?
Mel:
We’d go to Yosemite to hike in his favorite National Park!
Grant:
I would plan to visit a city. Coffee, shopping, brunch, 5 star hotel, and seafood for dinner.
10. What do you hope the next 5 and 10 will look like?
Mel:
Lots of communication, the fruits of the spirit, maybe a few trips, sips of wine, and laughs along the way!
Grant:
Learning from all of my mistakes in the first ten years (he actually said five because he can’t believe it’s been that long🤣). Growing together in patience, love, and wisdom. Doing our best to raise 2 wonderful boys!
