Life Lately

As always the summer is flying by! The in-between moments here in Michigan have been filled with lots of little activities. Sun or not we are making the most of our summer😉

We started June off with a quick day trip to Traverse City. When I say quick I mean it, ha! We started at the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore/Dunes. I thought the guys might enjoy a little something outdoorsy. Not sure how great it was but we saw the dunes✔️

We toured a small portion of Traverse City. Stopping at Cherry Republic — where there was Cherry overload🍒 I guess Traverse is the cherry capital of the world?! Who knew! They had everything you can think of in cherry flavor– wine tasting, soda, salsa, chocolate covered cherries, dried cherries, coffee, ice cream, candy etc! We ended our quick trip with apps at a local dive, Poppycocks.

Our weekly coffee dates with Grant

and when the weather is nice we meet at the park instead.

In June, Grayson and I popped outside every time there was a little sunshine whether to the zoo, park, pool, trying out the local farmer’s market, a little soccer at the nearby fields, or just to eat lunch!

He loved the zoo all until it was time to pet the llama or when the pot-belly hog snorted at him😂

Our evenings have been full of golf outings, swimming, the drive-in movie theatre, shopping for landscape supplies (aka pink flamingos) and walks–in our pajamas, ha!

A few of the random events that we’ve been stumbling upon…

Global Run Day {June 5th}
We went to the Lululemon 5K Run/Yoga at the Cider Mill– This was a fun evening where the guys ran, I did yoga and we all enjoyed some yummy cider, donuts and the local food truck.

On National Yoga Day {June 21st}

I went to the Lansing Lululemon store and had a morning of yoga in the courtyard! This was a refreshing morning in the sunshine and Lulu gear for the win🙌🏼 I wasn’t mad about the free yoga mat just for showing up🧘🏼‍♀️

Kids activity night at Eastwood Towne Center was actually nothing more than a fail– we went and opted not to wait an hour for a balloon or face painting for Grayson lol He left with a pencil and a little maze game, I guess it was worth a try 😂

I think we celebrated the entire month of June🎉

For Father’s Day
Our weekend started out with Grant working Saturday so Grayson and I visited him for breakfast and that evening we went to dinner at our favorite (around here) Tavern 109.

We celebrated with both of our dads on Sunday

and then back to Michigan to finish celebrating Grant at the driving range and putt-putt⛳️

My Birthday

Grant, Jared, & Grayson made me dinner the night before my birthday. They surprised me with lobster & sides for days! I think they had quite the adventure cooking the live lobsters before I came home.

When it was finally time to eat and Grant cut into the lobster Grayson started crying because he was scared of them– I think they tortured him with the live ones beforehand🤣

On my birthday Grant and I went out for dinner–thanks to uncle J for babysitting!
We tried a new restaurant in East Lansing– The State Room. It was an amazing evening just the 2 of us!

Congrats to the new Mr & Mrs 🥂

My brother Eric and his new wife Hannah got married June 22nd. They had a beautiful day and we loved celebrating with them all weekend in Greenwood/Indy!

These 2 were so cute eating an early breakfast in their pajamas. They loved watching each other eat but only when the other wasn’t looking😂

We even celebrated Sunday morning with brunch!
Eric didn’t know he had paparazzi all the way to his honeymoon😉 Ok so we weren’t really trying to stalk him, we just so happened to go to brunch at a nearby place (actually in the same building as his hotel) and when we got there realized that they might not have left for their flight.

Sure enough we saw his car in the lot and snapped a pic with it…

We knew seeing him would be a bad idea so we made sure they weren’t eating at Rize where we planned to eat. We then thought they might not be checked out yet and come into the restaurant later so we went to Yolk a few doors down. We thought the coast was clear– but as we were being seated we saw Hannah’s head peak out from a booth and we quickly dashed out of there. 😅

We ended up at Rize, which is where we wanted to eat anyway. Seriously look at their cinnamon rolls– we all shared this one and it was👌🏼

We anxiously waited for Eric and Hannah to leave from the restaurant so we periodically stood up looking out the window. The waitress even asked what celebrity was out there😂 She said they get many of those lol We said it was our brother who just got married, ha! #basicallythesame

Well I think that is a wrap for our June activities and celebrations! Now that we are well into July 🇺🇸 more fun coming soon.
