Wrapping up Summer

Happy first day of Fall🍂
I LOVE summer and it’s definitely my favorite season but there is something about September, the first PSL, and that Fall Bucket List getting ✔️ that gives all of the feels! I’d say when the weather changes and pumpkin everything is out I’m Team Fall. 🙌🏼 { But you better believe I’m in that summer white through Labor Day, ha!}

For me summer has meant unplugging and striving to enjoy the little moments with the Gs. In the last month I have heard numerous people–mostly random strangers say, “Enjoy these times while they are that age. They are the BEST years and they go by so quickly.”
{I smile and say, “yes that’s what they say!” Ha!}

Not because I completely disagree but more because it’s usually in the midst of a crazy day. Maybe after a 3 year old fit went down or before another doctor appointment where much anxiousness tends to linger. Either way it’s refreshing to hear, but leaves me pondering, if these are the best years how am I making the most of each moment?

For me a prioritized day really makes for a great start. Clinging to Christ early in the morning is what I’ve found to be key. Even when the littles beat me to rise with a 4 am wake-up call, I’ve found that carving out that much needed time FIRST helps keep me in the moment throughout the rest of the day.

It steers my focus towards HIM and not on how am I going to manage and attempt to thrive on my own–giving HIM the leftovers at the end of my day.

Summer may have been different but it sure was memorable! With those little moments being all the more amplified.

Here’s a little peek at our summer…
Coffee {lunch} dates with Grant are still much adored😍

and for summer we even switched it up to picnics on the lawn.

One afternoon we stumbled upon a tour of the train museum (near our typical coffee date. The coordinator loved giving us a private tour with all of the deets. Ha!

Summer has consisted of walks, some that end in ice cream

others in morning coffee☕️

splashing in our massive back yard pool

and actually swimming at the pool,

mini hikes at the local State Park

unlimited play time

Family Date Nights

The Big 3-0 for me!
Grant surprised me with an East Coast themed Seafood Boil💕

We celebrated our 9th Anniversary at the end of July, with an unplanned afternoon date, ending with carryout on the back deck after the little gs went to bed! It was anything from a typical year but truly loved quality time with this hottie.

We attempted to make it to Traverse City for a day trip. We started west of there at Crystal Mountain at this slide

haha but really started at this slide

and then decided we were done for the day and headed towards home instead of Traverse! #parentlife

A lake visit where Grayson tubed & Gentry enjoyed his first boat ride⛵️

We’ve had bits of family and friend time in-between!

We celebrated the Kentucky Derby with a Derby party 🐎

and ½ cookies for Grayson’s ½ birthday🎈

Gentry turned 8 months

We wrapped up our summer with a family vacation and a Sunday afternoon outside.

Good-bye Summer, Hello Fall💙
