Weekend Trip ✈️ Seattle

Our most recent endeavor was to Seattle, Washington. The first weekend in May we decided to take a long weekend trip there (just the three of us) before things got busy with summer travel back to Indiana etc.  Random? Ok maybe a little but we love visiting new places and figured this was a doable weekend trip with already being in Cali.  So we did!!

First of all I highly recommend visiting Seattle if you haven’t already! The city is beautiful.  Some cities can easily be described in a word or two but this, not so much.  There is the typical modern architecture , quaint historical areas and old-world inspired markets and shops. Ok that’s just a little glimpse!  IMG_1333

The great thing about these little pockets of adventure are that you will find them nestled within reasonable walking distance or a short drive from each other.  Makes a weekend trip all the more doable.2017050595192825

We started our adventure with taking Grayson on his first flight! We had luggage for days!  #itsonlyaweekendtrip I hate to see what it looks like when we go back to Indiana for a couple of weeks 🙊 lolIMG_1245

Grayson did really great on the flight! He woke up as we were taking off with big eyes, cried a little, and then just stared at the lady behind us 😳😂

We made it to our accommodations, The Renaissance Seattle Hotel. This was a great place to stay because it was centrally located close to everything we wanted to do but not right in the heart of any one particular attraction. We then ventured to the pier where we strolled along the boardwalk and found some fun shops, the ferris wheel and great food!

The ferris wheel is a must, it’s a great view of the city especially at sunset! We may have had a little too much fun on it. 😉

Seattle is also very colorful in a variety of ways…

Ok so you know you are officially parents when your night out for dinner consists of me in the restroom for about 30-45 minutes feeding and changing Grayson. (Because the feeding on the ferris wheel wasn’t long enough lol) All while Grant sends our appetizer back so it can come out warm when I am finished. In the meantime, he orders oysters to enjoy while he waits. Then when I finally get out of the restroom they bring the appetizer and Grayson starts crying, so Grant takes him on a walk while I sit and eat my portion of the app.  Long story short we would highly recommend Elliott’s Oyster House  even if we only had half of an app and a couple of oysters. We ended up eating carry out from Ivar’s Fish Bar back at the hotel!  #reallife

Saturday we continued our trip with going to brunch at Bacco Cafe.  This place had amazing food and was located at the Pike Place Market.  After we ate, Grayson and I took a stroll to some shops while Grant did some work.   #myshoppingbuddy

We met up at the Pike Place Market, which if you aren’t familiar, is the public market famous to Seattle.  They have bakeries, fresh produce stands, artisan crafts, fish markets, beautiful fresh cut flower stands and so much more! Such a fun place to go!!

You may have seen the fish market on shows such as the Bachelor (Sean Lowe’s Season) or in movies such as Sleepless in Seattle.IMG_1365

The other famous landmark in the area is the first Starbucks that opened in 1971.  The line was a mile long so we took pics and kept moving as we already had our coffee for the morning!  ☕️ #coffeefordays #starbucksoneverycorner

Next we headed to the Chihuly Garden/Glass Center  and the Space Needle. These are also highly recommend attractions for the city! Chihuly is beautiful and especially great for babies just learning to see color.  Grayson loved this, as you can see from some of the pics, he was taking it all in!

The space needle on the other hand he didn’t like as much! Pressure Drop = Unhappy Baby 🙉

We learned our lesson after the first night out for dinner, so we made sure Grayson was well fed and ready for a late night out!  #hesleptallevening  Grant chose our venue for the evening.  He wanted Modern-American food so we went to Quinn’s Pub.  Grayson Quinn may have had a little influence on his choice of restaurant. 😉  This food was so good but very unique.  If you are up for an adventure on your plate go here!

Sunday we started the morning out right with a delectable breakfast at Tulio. This place was amazing!  #thegranolaisonpoint👌🏼 Of course we had our coffee too, after all we were in Seattle!!

We walked to Pioneer Square.  This is where everything Gold Rush went down. So if you love history go here!  If you don’t, go here and shop the cute boutiques. 😳

Next we drove by the Starbucks world headquarters and saw the Seahawks and Mariners stadiums in route. IMG_1420

We ended up at the Starbucks Reserve Roastery and Tasting Room. Aside from the Space Needle this would be my number one recommendation for Seattle!  It’s the only reserve in the world, with more to open soon. The atmosphere is amazing and overall it’s just a fun experience! #ifyouareintothatsortofthing

We shared the tasting plate; served with their speciality coffee.  This was so cute and delicious as well!fullsizeoutput_fcd

We walked to another area of the city where all of the shopping happens!  If you ask Grant we usually find this area in about every city. 😉 It’s great because you find unique pieces that your local retailers don’t carry!  We grabbed a late lunch at this amazing New York style pizza eatery, Serious Pie.  They might even serve great beer floats. #justsayingIMG_1430

We made a pit stop at this bakery because it had some outdoor seating where I randomly decided to feed Grayson.  Sometimes you do what you have to! #momlife Grant decided to buy something since we were using their seating lol so we split a piece of iced chocolate cake. #alsoonpoint

So this sums up our Seattle trip.  The flight home went great, Grayson slept the whole time. We had an amazing little getaway, and if I haven’t said it enough we would highly recommend Seattle!
